Over the course of seven engaging classes, we will explore the core principles and beliefs of Hinduism.
We will trace the origins of the term ‘Hinduism’, the modern history of the culture, and the consequent identity of Hindus. Together, we will unpack the seeming complexity of Hinduism’s multiple denominations, philosophies, scriptures, and deities, while comparing and contrasting key elements to the other major world religions. This will help us better illustrate the distinct and original vision of Hinduism.
Famous but often misunderstood principles such as karma, reincarnation, liberation, caste, and more will be succinctly and precisely defined and woven into a cohesive vision. By the end of this course, you will be able to summarise Hinduism’s mainstream worldview, including all of its essential tenets, in one cleverly constructed sentence!
Each lesson will include further reading materials and quizzes to help you truly internalise the teachings.
