The Śrīmad Bhāgavatam is the classic Vaiṣṇava Purāṇa on the divine līlas of Śrī Hari, His avātaras, and His bhaktas. While other core texts like the Vedas and the Bhagavad Gītā dive deep into philosophical knowledge and instructions on how to act, the Bhāgavatam delivers the final piece of the puzzle: the essence of bhakti.
In this course, you will be guided through each of the twelve cantos of the Bhāgavatam by Paramahamsa Vishwananda Himself. Videos of His live commentary are supplemented by extensive readings to break down the context, structure, stories, and key characters of the text. You will dive deep into classic līlas like the Rāsa-līlā and encounter little-known stories like the past life of Vṛtāsura – each carrying a potent seed of bhakti.
By the end of the course, you will have a comprehensive overview of the key stories of the Vaiṣṇava tradition and a deeper appreciation of the lessons of bhakti in each one.
